Neighbors In Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the United Church of Christ that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry. Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC’s Justice and Witness Ministries to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects through grants.

Neighbors In Need grants are awarded to churches and organizations doing justice work in their communities. These grants fund projects whose work ranges from direct service to community organizing and advocacy to address systemic injustice. Funding is provided through donations to the Neighbors In Need offering. The flyer in our bulletin this morning describes one of the NIN grants in action.

We will receive our NIN offering on October 9, 2016 NIN contributions can also be made on-line. Thank you for your support.

Additional Information from the Church Office: Since so many of you now receive your copy of the Epistle via email, we have decided to have the offering envelopes for the 2016 Neighbors In Need campaign available at the church.  We will place them in our Sunday bulletins and we will also have some available in the Parlor for your use.  You can also make a check payable to South Church and mark it for Neighbors In Need or go to ucc.org/nin to make a donation.
