May 17th marked the community debut of our enhanced sound system and South Church, in partnership with the United Way, presented Mary Pope Osborne, the award winning author of the Magic Tree series for young readers.
South Church invited Mary Pope Osborne to speak in our Sanctuary and greet children afterwards to encourage a love of reading. This was a program of the Pittsfield Promise whose goal is for Pittsfield children to achieve grade level reading competency by third grade.
A crowd of educators, parents and children were eager to see, hear and meet their favorite author.
