As this New Year begins it’s a good time to remember who we seek to be as part of our wider community here in the Berkshires. To this end a “Four Freedoms” march and rally — inspired by Franklin Roosevelt’s vision of a nation and world with freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from fear, and freedom from want — will take place on Saturday, January 7 beginning on the lawn of St. Joseph’s Church (414 North St.) at 12:30 p.m.

The march will proceed to Park Square and into the sanctuary of First Church at 1p.m. for speakers and an open house featuring displays of local organizations which offer opportunities to help fulfill the Four Freedoms. This is a diverse, non-partisan, Berkshire based event organized by the newly formed “Four Freedoms Coalition” with representatives from many community groups and faith communities. All are welcome.
